My secondment at TIB has been key for the development of my skills in the area of knowledge representation, which plays a critical role in most neuro-symbolic AI systems. This secondment has widely opened my acknowledgement of the potential and limitations of neuro-symbolic AI, offering a range of research lines aligned with contemporary challenges and in many fields such as medicine or education."

My secondment has established a working relation with the TIB group. We have defined a roadmap with specific joint actions towards utilising neurosymbolic AI in the domain of ADHD. And we have had some initial results around the analysis of the reasoning capabilities of LLMs around nonmonotonic reasoning."

My secondment within the THIRDWAVE significantly advanced my research in neuro-symbolic AI by enabling me to develop knowledge-guided methods combining LLMs with structured knowledge bases and rules. It also strengthened my expertise in explainable reasoning and multi-modal integration, and enabled me to disseminate these outcomes through invited lectures and training activities in Cameroon and Sénégal."

During my secondment within THIRDWAVE, I collaborated with Wolfgang Nejdl’s research group to develop a comprehensive multilingual benchmark for evaluating cultural knowledge. Together, we designed a semi-automatic Wikipedia-based pipeline to generate the benchmark. During my one-month research visit, we exchanged expertise and advanced its practical implementation."

"My THIRDWAVE secondment at Leibniz University Hannover advanced my research on biomedical information extraction and neuro-symbolic AI. By exploring relation extraction, knowledge graph construction, and ontology-aware validation methods, I gained practical experience in integrating large language models with structured medical knowledge. The experience strengthened my expertise in knowledge-enhanced AI and international collaboration."

"My THIRDWAVE secondment at Leibniz University Hannover advanced my research in neuro-symbolic AI by combining large language models with structured biomedical knowledge. Through work on Vietnamese biomedical entity linking and UMLS resources, I gained experience in integrating neural and symbolic approaches for multilingual, explainable AI, while building valuable international research collaborations."
